We’ll finish the summer school off with everyone’s favourite sweet treat: honey! We’ll talk about how the bees actually make honey, why they make honey and the benefits of honey vs. sugar. We’ll sample different honeys from different nectar sources and test our taste buds to see if we can guess what the honey is made from, and make our very own honey label design. Then, we’ll wear off some of that sugar and extract some honey for ourselves. Finally, we’ll finish off our summer school with our final inspection, and see the honey get made first hand.

This session is for any budding beekeeper from 6-10 years old and is part of our Kids Summer Bee School programme, and will run from 12:30-3:30pm from Old Kilmaronock Kirk.
